The New Shared Mobility Summit
Welcome to the official page for the 2025 New Shared Mobility Summit! Together we’re building a Change Community — a more connected and cohesive network accelerating the shift to people-centered mobility. Here’s everything you need to know about the event.
A New Way to Convene Leaders
We see convenings as strategic opportunities to build momentum and accelerate action toward safe, reliable, and affordable transportation for all—whether or not they own a car.
The need to move beyond fossil-fueled, car-centric systems is even more urgent. Shared mobility pilots have demonstrated the demand for new, shared mobility options. Our goal now is to increase the availability of shared mobility options and public transit, creating an ecosystem that reduces car dependence. This requires trust, alignment, and deep partnerships across stakeholders and sectors.
That’s why we overhauled our annual summit. In September 2025, we hosted an event that provides the time that communities need to connect and move at the speed of trust.
The New Shared Mobility Summit brought together ten teams of Change Leaders from ten metropolitan regions across the US.
The New Summit was designed from the ground up to build more connected and cohesive Local Change Teams to fight climate change, advance equity, and strengthen communities.
We Call Them Change Leaders
Change Leaders are driving the shift to people-centered mobility.
They work across the transportation system—from policy and funding to infrastructure and innovation.
They design multimodal solutions, develop new technologies and services, and produce insights through research and evaluation.
They are planners, engineers, advocates, and policymakers—leading teams in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
Together, they’re moving us away from auto-centric systems toward shared, equitable, and sustainable mobility. We believe we can accelerate the system shift by connecting and building solidarity among the Change Leaders.

The New Shared Mobility Summit is Different
1. We inverted the power. We knew there would always be more expertise and knowledge among the attendees than in any speakers’ panel. Instead of one-way lectures, our Summit centered on questions, conversations, and discussions.
2. We didn’t have speakers. We had active participants and resource persons. Participants shared, asked, and interrogated. Resource persons reflected and guided. The most important place wasn’t the podium; it was the center of the room, in the middle of substantial and challenging discussions.
3. We broke down walls and built community. Our Summit wasn’t limited to the two days participants came together in person. We designed for engagement and learning before and after the in-person event, some in the form of small groups. We hosted online conversations and built virtual communities to mobilize real-world impact.
4. We made it accessible. We didn’t charge conference fees and provided travel stipends to those who needed them. Travel and registration costs are prohibitive for many community organizations and public sector leaders, often perpetuating under-representation.
