1st Global Convening on Informal and Shared Mobility

October 26 - October 28

Today’s mobility systems leave millions behind — particularly in the Global South, where informal and shared mobility (ISM) networks are often the primary means of getting around,
yet remain understudied and underserved by policy. The 1st Global Convening on Informal and Shared Mobility (GloCon) is a historic milestone: the first global gathering dedicated to advancing knowledge, policy, innovation, and collaboration on ISM systems.

Taking place October 26–28, 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, GloCon will bring together 400+ researchers, policymakers, operators, workers, advocates, and entrepreneurs from across the world. Together, they will bridge research, policy, and practice to drive lasting systems change for equitable, sustainable mobility. Co-organized by VREF, CUTI, GNPT, PRISM, Columbia Climate School, SUMC, SPARC, WRI, and EASTS, GloCon is a truly global effort — built on shared knowledge, shared movement, and shared transformation.
